4 Lionel Messi Records Ansu Fati Has Broken Since Turning Professional

Lionel Messi being one of the most known world class players in Europe and has from a very young age being making waves in football. He is usually compared with the fellow longstanding rival, Christiano Ronaldo in this football generation.

Lionel Messi started his football career in his current club, Barcelona at a very young age. He is one of the prosperous graduates from the club reserves, La Masia and has in his football career set many records.

He remains the highest goalscorer in the Spanish Laliga and the all-time goalscorer for Barcelona, most goals scored in a European tournament season and many other world class records that are usually fight for with Ronaldo. He remains his home country, Argentina all-time goalscorer.

The Spanish international signed a professional contract with the club in 2019 to remain in the club until 2022.

First National Team Goal 

Although eligible to play for both, Guinea Bussau, his birth country and Portugal, his grandparents country, he chose to play for Spain and he was able to score his first international goal for the club against Ukraine on September 6, 2020 becoming the country’s youngest ever goalscorer at the age of 17 years and 311 days surpassing Messi record.

Messi scored his first international goal at the age of 18 years 250 days for Argentina.

Debut Season Appearance and Goal 

Ansu Fati in his debut season for Barcelona made 33 appearances and was able to score 8 goals while Messi in his debut season for the Laliga giant made only 9 appearances scoring only 1 goal.

First Champions League Goal 

Ansu Fati scored his first UEFA Champions League goal against Inter Milan in their 2-1 victory over the Italian Serie A team in the competition at the age of 17years and 40 days while Lionel Messi was able to score his first goal in the competition at the age of 18years and 131 days.

First Barcelona Goal 

Ansu Fati scored his first goal for Barcelona at the age of 16 years and 304 days against Osasuna. Messi was able to score his first goal for Barcelona at the age of 17 years 331 days.
