Tottenham Hotspur FC has reached an agreement with Real Madrid for the signing of Sergio Regulion for a reported fee of £30 million.
Recall both Manchester United and Chelsea have been in the race for Sergio Regulion who is touted as one of the best-attacking full-backs in the Spanish league’s last campaign. Chelsea was unwilling to meet the high transfer clause demanded Real Madrid before opting to sign Leceister City’s left-back Ben Chilwell a few weeks ago. Manchester United was already in advanced talks with the Spanish defender and was reported to have reached a personal term with the player but couldn’t meet the club’s valuation of the player.
In a dramatic fashion, Tottenham made a surprise move for the player and according to reports, they have agreed both personal terms and the player’s release clause with Real Madrid.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham has reached an agreement with Real Madrid for a reported fee of £30M and have agreed on the personal term with the player ahead of a move to White Hart Lane.
According to him (Fabrizio Romano), the deal is expected to be announced in the coming days.
This is really a big blow to Manchester United who has been beaten in the race to sign this highly-rated defender.
