Ozil likely to make MLS move

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil is likely to join an MLS side in January, according to the Mirror.

Ozil has not made an appearance after the coronavirus lockdown ended and the Gunners are hoping to terminate his contract early.

Should a deal be reached in January, Ozil would be free to join any team, with North America a probable destination.

Piazon questions Chelsea loan ‘business’

Lucas Piazon has questioned the loan “business” favoured by Chelsea, having now gone on his seventh loan since joining the club.

The 26-year-old has joined Rio Ave this season, having only made three appearances for the Blues in eight years with the club.

Piazon now believes he was only signed to make money from his eventual sale.

Ter Stegen nears Barca extension

Barcelona are closing in on a new contract for goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, reports Mundo Deportivo.

The 28-year-old’s current deal expires in 2022 and he is set to sign a new contract that will take him through 2025.

Leverkusen turned down the chance to sign Gotze

Bayer Leverkusen head coach Peter Bosz has claimed that Mario Gotze wanted to join his side, but the club turned down the chance to sign the former Germany international.

Gotze, who left Borussia Dortmund as a free agent at the end of last season, recently signed with Dutch outfit PSV on a two-year deal.

The 28-year-old was linked with several teams across Europe and in Germany, with Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin confirming their interest last month.
