According to PM Kisan’s website, β€œThe eKYC deadline for all PM Kisan beneficiaries has been extended to May 22, 2022.” The website further mentions the details of completing eKYC. According to the website, β€œeKYC is mandatory for PM Kisan-registered farmers.” It also urges farmers to contact their nearest CSC centre for Aadhar-based OTP authentication and biometric authentication before the deadline.

Announced in 2019, the PM-KISAN scheme aims to provide all eligible farmers with an annual economic benefit of Rs 6,000, payable in three instalments of Rs 2,000. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had previously earmarked the scheme for farmers, but he has said that Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana has become an important supporter of Indian farmers. He also claimed that through the scheme, the government will continue to benefit farmers.
