According to a CMR Report, Xiaomi holds a 20% market share in the Indian smartphone market as of Q2 2022. Despite a 22 percent fall in its sales volume, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi dominated the Indian smartphone market from April to June 2022, according to a survey published by CyberMedia Research (CMR) on Thursday. Xiaomi remained in first place with a 20% market share, followed by Samsung with an 18% market share. Itel, a Chinese manufacturer of feature phones, dominated the segment with a 25 percent market share. It was followed by Lava, whose shipments increased by 21%, allowing the indigenous mobile carrier to acquire 21% of the feature phone market.

According to the report, Nokiaโ€™s shipping volume decreased by 8%, and its market share dropped from 11% in the March 2022 quarter to 10% in the June 2022 quarter. CMR predicts that smartphone shipments will surpass 174 million in 2022. โ€œWe think that the second half (H2) of 2022 could see some easing of supply-side limitations in advance of the holiday season.

โ€œWith key smartphone companies planning flagship debuts in the second half of 2022, consumer demand in the premium smartphone market will remain healthy, with strong consumer willingness to switch and upgrade,โ€ said CMR analyst Amit Sharma of Industry Intelligence Group.
