It has rather turned out that, the initiative was a self-initiated one by a section of teachers in the Ahafo Ano North District. Sources have it that, educators of Tepa Methodist Basic School and Akwasiase Methodist Primary School, all in the Ahafo Ano North District initiated the teacher uniform project. The public, attempting to condemn the initiative has suggested that, if the government ever considers introducing such an initiative, it such kind of initiative, it should consider paying uniform assistance to teachers.

One Sylvia Yeboah, who is believed to be an educator in the Tepa Methodist Basic School took to her Facebook page to point out that, they watched the uniform themselves and called on the general public to disregard any assertion that the Ghana Education Service (GES) is introducing uniform for teachers. Management of the Ghana Education Service has reached an alleged introduction of uniforms for teachers throughout the country. In reacting to the problem, the GES stated, they are one of the largest Government agencies in Ghana. That, they hire more than half of all Government workers, and, if they want to introduce uniforms for educators they would not do that through social media and over the weekend.

As per Professor Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa’s direct GES, in this era of unionized labor, GES can’t introduce a uniform for teachers without involving the teacher unions, adding that, the viral information circulating on social media regarding uniforms for teachers is palpable false and must be ignored.
