Amy Schumer has finally given in and taken a lie detector test after years of teasing, over allegations of joke stealing. The Trainwreck star took part in Vanity Fair’s polygraph test feature where she was grilled about several aspects of her acting career and her jokes. personal life and indeed.
Back in the year 2016, Schumer was alleged of stolen the jokes of other comedians in a now-deleted thread on Twitter. At the time, 3 female comedians- Kathleen Madigan, Wendy Liebman, and Tammy Pescatelli shared their frustrations and made assertions that Schumer had looted material and used it in her stand-up specials. Schumer rejected she had ever looted jokes and shortly afterward, Pescatelli rescinded her allegations and apologized to the comedian.
The stand-up comedian talks onstage at the time of the 94th Oscars at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California on Sunday, 27th of March 2022. I went too far and I am super apologetic.” On the same radio show, Schumer stated: “I am being blamed for stealing jokes and I wanted to come and talk to you about it and clear my name because I would never ever do that and never have.”
It was at this time that she stated she would happily prove her innocence with a lie detector test. Now that time has come and the time of the magazine feature this week, Schumer was asked: “Coming up with new material is tough, have you ever stolen a joke?” Schumer replied with a definitive “no” and a clip of the machine viewed it as being non-responsive to her answer. The polygraph technician asserted, “Yes, she is telling the truth.”
