Rymbai had a poor background when he was born, he had to drop his education during his graduation. He worked as an assistant teacher in a government school. He later obtained a graduate degree as well as a degree in education (B. Ed. – Bachelor of education). He served as a headmaster in a government school. Apart from this, he has come into politics in 1983 and contested elections to the legislative assembly of Meghalaya on the Congress party ticket from the Jiang constituency successfully. According to the report, Former Chief Minister J. Dringwell Rymbai passed away on the morning of Thursday. He left behind his wife, whose name is Peggymon Pathaw, three daughters, and two sons. His family is devasted due to his death, the entire hill state is mourning his death. If we try to know about his death cause, so we believed he died due to old age illness. Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said on his passing “it is great sadness after learning about his death”.
