Crazy Frog, originally known as The Annoying Thing, is a Swedish CGI animated character and European dance musician founded in 2003 by actor and playwright Erik Wernquist. Ringtone provider Jamba! The character for sale was originally created to match the sound effects produced by Daniel Malmedahl while trying to mimic the sound of a two-stroke engine.
Crazy Frog created a global hit in Turkey, New Zealand, Australia and most of Europe with a cover of “Axel F” (from the Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack).
The subsequent album Crazy Frog Presents Crazy Hits and the second single “Popcorn” were also successful on the global charts, the second album Crazy Frog Presents More Crazy Hits was released in 2006, and the third album “Everybody” Dance Now was released in 2009. Frog also had a number of singles, a collection of merchandise and toys, and two video games before its 2009 hiatus.
A Twitter account was created for the character on April 22, 2020, and it is listed on the official website, Facebook profile, and YouTube channel. A new album was announced later the same day. On December 10, 2021, a new single “Tricky” was released after 13 years.
