
“Squid Game”‘s Lee Yo-mi and Coleman Domingo, Laurie Metcalf and Nathan Lane were among the best guest performers at Sunday’s Creative Arts Emmys.
The honors were announced at a two-part weekend awards ceremony, with multiple trophies presented Saturday for the special “Adele: One Night Only” and the documentary series “The Beatles: Homecoming.” Each received five awards.
“Euphoria”, “Stranger Things” and “The White Lotus” were the big winners on Sunday, also taking home five trophies each.
The Creative Arts Awards are the precursor to the major Emmys, which will air on NBC on September 12 at 8 p.m. ET, with “Saturday Night Live” actor Kenan Thompson as host.
Lee, who played the ill-fated Ji-young in a Korean drama, won a TV drama guest actress award, the first non-English-language drama to be nominated for an Emmy. Its competitors at next week’s awards show include “Inheritance” and “Ozark.”
Domingo appeared on Euphoria as drug recovery sponsor Ali Muhammad, earning the TV Guest Actor trophy.
In terms of comedy series, the winners were Metcalfe of “Hackers” and Ryan of “There’s Only Murder in the Building.” This is Metcalf’s fourth Emmy after the “Roseanne” trio; for Lane, it’s his first after multiple nominations for shows like “Frasier” and “Modern Family.”
Other weekend winners include former President Barack Obama, who won the emmy for best narrator For his work on the Netflix documentary series “Our Great National Parks.”
Tyler Simone Ledward, widow of “Black Panther” actor Chadwick Boseman, received his posthumous trophy Saturday for his work on Disney+ and Marvel Studios’ animated show “What If What will happen?” excellent character voiceover.
