Itachi Uchiha is one of the most misunderstood characters in Naruto Shippuden – and one of the most loved as well. So stating that Deku, the protagonist of My Hero Academia may be having an attitude similar to Naruto’s legendary anti-heroes is something that can generate a lot of doubts – and some expectations too!
Watch out, we’re going to give spoilers about chapters 306 of My Hero Academia, you’ve been warned!
In this particular chapter, we see Midoriya leaving the AU without further explanation. Apparently, only All Might seems to understand what Deku’s true motivations are while all his colleagues seem not to understand what is going on in the young companion’s mind. But what would that have to do with Itachi after all?
It turns out that both Deku and Itachi left their homes to protect those they loved. Both decided to go to the last consequences and make a great sacrifice to save those who were important to them, which in Midoriya’s case were all those around them.
Due to his importance to the plot and being the successor of All Might, Deku became the main target of the League of Villains, who basically decided to do everything possible to destroy the holder of One for All. His decision to leave is therefore, a sample that his zeal for his friends is greater than anything and that he prefers to face everything alone than to put them at risk once again.
