Dragon fans were outraged after they shared rude and racist comments on Twitter following today’s episode (April 7). The two Croydon mums showed off their eclectic store tonight, selling Christmas decorations featuring black angels or black Santa on the show. Some fans were delighted that the entrepreneur had signed deals with dragons Deborah Meaden and Peter Jones, but others were unhappy with the concept.
“What a great product. But I’m sure there’s a bunch of hams about to explode,” said one viewer. “Sadly, Twitter is about to explode with all kinds of Christmas decorations.”
Some find her business of making gifts and toys depicting people of color exciting and wonderful. A fan of the show said: “What a great idea! Black Christmas decorations? Amazing!! Well done ladies!”
There were some rude comments on Twitter, with some questioning why black Christmas decorations were needed. One responded: “Considering how much people are excited about the black Christmas decorations variety, this proves it’s really needed.”
By the end of the show, Natalie and Alison left with a £50,000 investment. Many fans were delighted, with one saying: “Thanks to @marchmuses for getting two dragons for their big deal. Up and up.”
After the investment decision was made, Deborah Meaden and Peter Jones asked for a minority stake in the company – and the entrepreneurs agreed. Deborah praised the couple for their performance and the important work they did.
She later said: “The Black Lives Matter movement really emphasizes the importance of representation, especially for children. There should be different shades and variations of dolls and action figures, decorations, cards and wrapping paper.”
