On Wednesday, Aug. 3, Indiana Congresswoman Jackie Walorski was killed in a car crash. There are no survivors and it is not known how serious their injuries are. The incident occurred on SR 19 south of SR 119 around 12.32 pm. Walorski’s 58th birthday and her 59th birthday are just two weeks away.
Walorski, 58, of Elkhart, Indiana; Zachery Potts, 27, of Mishawaka, Indiana; and Emma Thomson, 28, of Washington, D.C., according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office. were the victim of a collision between two vehicles. Potts served as Walowski’s campaign manager while Thomson served as campaign manager before being promoted to Indiana House district director. Authorities also reported the death of Edith Schmucker, the driver of Walorski’s car. Four people were killed when the car Schmuke was driving veered left and collided head-on with a southbound SUV in Indiana, according to police. But there was no explanation as to why her car turned in the wrong direction.
Who is Edith Schmuck?
The car that hit Warloski was driven by Edith Schmucker, 56, of Napanee, Indiana. A native of Warsaw, she worked as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) at Millers Senior Living Community in Clearvista Pl, Indianapolis. She graduated from Warsaw High School in 1985. On Facebook, she continues to list her relationship status as “single.” Although her status is listed as “single,” she lists Tyler Lee Schmucker and Mikel D Renze as her sons on Facebook.
People who know Schmucker point out that she has a great heart and is willing to sacrifice everything for everyone. Edith Schmuck’s niece Tamra Schmuck wrote: “When I was a kid, you taught me by constantly telling me how much you loved me and running your fingers through my hair. Until We’ll meet next time.” Walorski’s death was first announced via a tweet from House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, who said: “It is with a heavy heart that I share this message from Congresswoman Jackie Walorski’s office. Information.” He continued: “This breaking news is horrible. All colleagues at Jackie’s House admire and respect her for being a close friend, a reliable advisor, and the epitome of integrity.
