Flying Eagles’ Midfielder, Ogbelu, Presents WAFU B Gold Medal To His School Boss, Sani Lulu « CmaTrends

Flying Eagles’ ‘School Boy’ dazzler, Onuche Ogbelu, on Thursday presented the Gold medal he won with the National U20 side at the just concluded WAFU Zone B Championship in Niamey, Niger Republic, to the Proprietor of his school, Fosla Academy, Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi, reports.

Ogbelu, at the brief ceremony, also presented his Junior National team jersey to the former Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, President.

The midfielder was described during the Niamey Showpiece as a ‘game changer’ by Flying Eagles Coach, Ladan Bosso.

Ogbelu is a Senior Secondary SS3 student of the Fosla Academy Abuja floated by Alhaji Sani Lulu soon after leaving office as NFF President in 2010 just after the FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

After the presentation, Ogbelu returned to school to join his classmates for the ongoing West African Senior Secondary School Examinations.

Receiving the medal and jersey, Lulu congratulated the player for doing the country proud, and as well positively projecting the school in the tournament.

The former FCT Director of Sports expressed happiness over the performance of his student at the tournament, and promised to support him towards ensuring that his academic and football career blossomed in the nearest future.

“I’m impressed with your individual performance and general contribution to the U20 National Team,” Lulu told Ogbelu.

“You portrayed yourself as a good Ambassador, not only for your nation but as well for the Fosla Academy.

“On my part, I will continue to encourage, support and motivate you and others both in your Football and academic careers.

“This WAFU B success is a challenge for hard work towards the coming African U20 Nations Cup as well as the FIFA U20 World Cup which Nigerians expect the team to qualify for.”

He further encouraged him to remain steadfast and disciplined in his quest to attain greatness.

Responding, Ogbelu thanked the Fosla boss and described him as a ‘father of exceptional quality that takes pride in seeing to the success of his children’.

Ogbelu promised to bring smiles to the faces of the Fosla Family.

The teenager is the Captain of Fosla FC participating in the Nationwide League One, NLO.
