Geo Sione Death – A kiwi woman has been charged with murder following the death of a man whose remains was found in a unit in St Marys in Sydney’s west.

Local police were called to a townhouse on Sydney Street in St Marys Tuesday afternoon after concerns were raised for 35-year-old New Zealander Geo Sione.

He was found inside suffering severe head wounds, believed to be from an axe.

Following an investigation by police, Naea Moli, 34, was arrested and charged with murder.

CCTV shows Moli standing outside the apartment after the alleged murder and smoking a cigarette before getting in a taxi.

The 34-year-old took herself to St Marys Police Station where she was questioned for hours, before being charged with murder.

NSW Police Detective Inspector Jason Pietruska said the woman appeared calm when she turned up at St Marys Police Station on Tuesday.

“Her demeanour was calm. She was matter-of-fact about what had occurred. She spoke with police freely and that information led us to the location,” he said.

Pietruszka said there appeared to be a history of violence in the relationship.

“The couple are known to police and to other agencies. So, there is a history, we are looking into the details of that,” he said.

“Obviously this is a horrific incident. It shows what can happen, at its worst, regarding domestic violence.”

Pietruszka said the woman’s partner had extensive head wounds and the crime scene was very disturbing.

“The scene was horrific, that’s the only way it can be described,” he said.

The alleged victim and the accused had been in a relationship for around ten years and had recently arrived from New Zealand.

Police were in the process of taking out an AVO again Moli, 9News understands.

Neighbours told 9News the couple had only moved into the apartment in February.

They said the pair was relatively quiet and kept to themselves, however, they were occasionally heard yelling or arguing.

Moli was refused bail when she fronted Penrith Local Court on Monday.
