Loren Allred took the stage to tell Simon Cowell and his fellow judges that she was the original singer of “Never Enough,” one of the biggest songs on The Greatest Showman’s soundtrack.

Cowell replied: “So you sang one of the greatest songs of all time. They revealed that it wasn’t an actress who sang it in the movie – they sang that song.”

As anyone who’s seen “Sing in the Rain” would have expected, Allred then sang the song herself to a standing ovation and a golden buzzer, sending her straight into the season’s ending.

When Cowell asked her why she didn’t have a huge record deal beforehand, Allred replied: “I feel more comfortable singing backstage, but somehow I feel like the song was written for me, and now I’ve Get ready to grimace to this song.”

The artist has been credited for the film’s soundtrack, which reached number one on the UK and international charts. In 2012, she was signed to Island Def Jam Music as a teenager and competed in The Voice, but was working as a barista when the producers of The Greatest Showman called her.
