Based on indie pop duo Tegan and Sara Quin’s 2019 memoir of the same name, the eight-episode series revolves around the twin sisters’ memories of growing up in the ’90s and finding their own identities. “High School” stars TikTok creators Railey and Seazynn Gilliland, along with Esther McGregor, Olivia Rouyre, Amanda Fix, Brianne Tju, Geena Meszaros, CJ Valleroy, Nate Corddry, and special guests Cobie Smulders and Kyle Bornheimer.

The series is executive produced by Clea DuVall, Tegan and Sara Quin, Laura Kittrell, and Plan B’s Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, and Carina Sposato. DuVall and Kittrell also serve as co-show hosts and co-writers, with DuVall directing several episodes. Amazon Studios and Plan B Entertainment Productions.

“High School” will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. The series will release its first four episodes on Friday, October 14 on Amazon Freevee. Freevee revealed the trailer as part of its Television Critics Association segment. Friday press conference.

White Label Productions has announced Stephanie Wagner as Senior Vice President and Head of Production. Netflix alum Katie Judkins also joined the company as White Label’s production director. In their respective roles, both Wagner and Juddkins will focus on enhancing the production services of multiple series the company produced last year, including FOX’s “Miss Universe 2021” and Amazon Prime Video’s “Savage X Fenty Show.” Wagner’s production management credits include USA Network’s “Barmageddon,” “The 94th Oscar Nominee Show,” “Lego Masters,” and ABC’s “A Very Boy Band Holiday.” Before joining White Label, Judkins managed production services for Netflix’s “Selling Sunset,” “Love Is Blind,” “Queer Eye,” and “Car Master: Rust and Grow Rich.”

Digital Entertainment Group (DEG) has elected its newest board members to serve until July 2024, with Paramount Worldwide’s Dan Cohen serving as DEG chairman. Other officials include Jonathan Zepp, vice chairman of Google, Andrea Downing, the chief financial officer of PBS Distribution, Rick Hack, secretary of Intel, and Jim Wuthrich, chairman emeritus of Warner Bros. Discovery. DEG’s new member AWS and returning member Sony Pictures Entertainment are the new representative directors on DEG’s board of directors. AWS is represented by Chris Blandy and Sony Pictures is represented by Jason Spivak. In addition, the directors have appointed Deloitte’s Robin Tarufelli as a special board advisor for the 2022-23 term, whose role is to provide more diverse input to member divisions and companies that may not currently serve on the board.
