From Christopher Nolan’s “Dunkirk” to the upcoming “Don’t Worry Darling” and “My Cop,” Harry Styles already has an enviable résumé of newcomer acting.But the pop star on Monday Venice International Film Festival Therefore, when it comes to acting, he often feels that he “doesn’t know what he’s doing”.

Styles arrives at the Lido, where “Don’t Worry, Darling” will have its world premiere Monday night in one of the most anticipated events of a star-studded festival. During a press conference ahead of the premiere, Styles was asked questions about his fans, his career and whether he would be working with director Olivia Wilde again—none of which he answered.

In “Don’t Worry Darling,” Stiles plays Jack, who works in a mid-century-style experimental community for the mysterious Victory Project run by Chris Pine’s charismatic cult leader. Florence Pugh plays Jack’s wife Alice, who gets all the comfort in the world in exchange for not asking questions. But soon, she started seeing cracks in the veneer.

“I think it’s fun to play in a world that’s not necessarily your own. The world is supposed to be so perfect, and it’s really fun to pretend to be in it,” Stiles said. “There’s not much acting.”

Styles took a few days off from the Madison Square Garden show to join Wilde and co-stars Pine and Gemma Chen at the “Don’t Worry Darling” premiere in Venice. But while he juggles two high-profile artistic careers, he says he doesn’t see many parallels between music and performance.

“Personally, I find they’re opposites in a lot of ways. I think making music is a very personal thing,” Styles said. “In some aspects of acting, you draw inspiration from your experiences, but for the most part, you’re pretending to be someone else. I think that’s what I find most interesting: pretending.”

He added: “I think the fun part is you never know what you’re doing. Music I’ve been doing longer, but what I love about acting is that I don’t feel like I know what I’m doing.”

Fans had already gathered in front of the theater early Monday, hours early to get a prime spot on the red carpet. Many people have personal stories about how Styles’ music has affected their lives.

“I’m so grateful to those who have supported me in my life, especially the fans, who have always provided me with a place to be who I am, where I feel comfortable and express myself,” he said of what that means so many people. “I wish I could give the space back to them.”
