In India, the next-generation KTM 200 Duke was spotted testing for the first time. The next-generation KTM 200 Duke has been spotted testing for the first time on U.S. soil; the rear ABS ring indicates that this bike will have dual-channel ABS, distinguishing it from its smaller 125cc sibling. The modifications to this next-generation model appear to have trickled down from the larger 390 Duke, a next-generation model whose testing we recently observed. The next-generation KTM Duke 200 borrows design and components from its larger siblings.

This new test mule continues KTM’s tradition of edgy and sharp design language, for which the company is renowned. The upcoming model has sharper and longer tank extensions than the current model, and its shape bears a striking resemblance to the exported Super Duke 1290R. The switchgear on this particular motorcycle is also unlike any KTM model currently available in India.

The offset rear mono-shock on the next-generation KTM Duke 200 is significantly different from the conventionally positioned unit on the current model. Not only the design but also the shape of the swingarm undergoes a radical transformation. While the current unit has a more linear design, the unit found on this test vehicle has a “gullwing” design.

Additionally, this display is larger than the one on the current model (which is basically the same since the bike launched in 2012). While it is a much larger unit and the design resembles the TFT displays found on the 390 range and the LCD displays found on the 250 Adventure, it is unclear which display this upcoming model will receive based on this spy photo. Considering how expensive KTMs have become in recent years, the more basic LCD dashboard may be offered here to keep costs down.
