Jak Knight dead and obituary, Stand-up Comedian, Writer and Actor

Jak Knight, a stand-up comedian, writer and actor with film, cable and streaming credits, died last night in Los Angeles at the age of 28. His family confirmed his death but gave no details.

Knight recently starred in the Peacock original series Bust Down alongside Chris Redd, Sam Jay and Langston Kerman. As co-executive producer on HBO’s Pause with Sam Jay, Knight recently made her directorial debut with Chelsea Peretti, her first female director role.

Knight, who played Devon on the hit Netflix animated series Big Mouth, previously served as the series’ writer for five seasons. Knight has traveled the world as a comedian, and his half-hour Netflix special aired in 2018 as part of a comedy lineup.

“The Cavaliers’ loved ones ask that their privacy be respected during this extremely difficult time,” a representative said in a statement. The cause of death and other details have not been released.

Jak co-created Bust Down and starred on the show alongside his co-creators Chris Redd, Sam Jay and Langston Kerman. The show, which premiered in March, follows a group of friends working low-paying jobs at a casino in Gary, Indiana.

You may also know Jak from the Netflix series Big Mouth. In addition to being a screenwriter on the show, he also voices Devon’s ex-husband DeVon and the popular college student who suffers from childhood arthritis.
