Mediatoon Distribution has seen massive sales of a slew of new and upcoming animated series, including a new adaptation of the beloved property.
The company launched three new games at the Unifrance Rendez-Vous TV market in Biarritz this week, two of which have already found early buyers.
“Nicholas’ Fantastic Summer” is about the mischievous adventures of a boy and his friends as they indulge in their summer beach vacation. Switzerland’s RTS, Hungary’s MTVA and Poland’s TV Puls have acquired the show, based on the best-selling book by the late author René Goscinny and cartoonist Jean-Jacques Sempé (who died August 11). It was produced by Media Valley (“Zoom the White Dolphin”) for M6/Gulli, Boing for Warner Bros. Discovery; and Belgian broadcasters RTBF and VRT.
The company also pre-sold season 2 of its preschool show “The Fox Badger Family” to Tele Quebec in Canada and RTS in Switzerland. Produced by Mediatoon studio Ellipse Animation and commissioned by French TV and German broadcaster WDR, this is the story of a badger father of twin boys and a young daughter who one day meet a mother fox and her daughter. Together they became the “Fox Badger Family”.
Also available is “Living with Dad,” a cartoon sitcom about an unconventional family revolving around a single father, his four very different daughters, and their unpredictable daily lives.
Commissioned by M6/Gulli and RTBF, and also produced by Ellipse Animation, the show is based on the popular and widely translated manga series. Mediatoon is pre-sale for the title, which will officially launch at the upcoming Mipcom TV market in Cannes.
Fanny Gilabert, Sales and Commercial Affairs Manager at Mediatoon Distribution, noted, “Our new release is very focused on family, diversity and acceptance.
