Who is Mercy Chinwo?
Born on September 5, 1990, in Portharcourt, Rivers State, Mercy Chinwo is a Nigerian gospel musician, singer, and songwriter. In 2012, she even won the Nigerian Idol Season 2. Following the win, she became a familiar name among the people. Everyone started following her on social media and within no time, she garnered a huge fan base. Mercy lost her father when she was very young. However, it did not affect her dreams as she released her first single “Testimony” in 2015. A year later, she released “Igwe”. Later, in 2017, Chinwo signed to Gospel Music label EeZee Conceptz. Apart from her musical career, Mercy is known for her appearance in several films as well. Just after winning the popular reality show Nigerian Idol, she bagged a film role in Yvonne Nelson’s film under the title “House of Gold”.
In the said film, Mercy played the role of Lucia and was cast opposite Yvonne Nelson, Majid Michel, and Moawumi. To her surprise, the film emerged as the winner of the Best Picture at the Ghana Movie Awards and Best Ghanaian Movie at the 2013 City people.
