NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises Adds Sandra Smester In New Role


In the newly created role, Semester will oversee the development and execution of network programming. She will also be responsible for content procurement, programming, and scheduling, as well as the companyโ€™s cable network, Universo. With over 25 years of experience writing Spanish-language content for Hispanic audiences in the US, Semester will work closely with future development and current production teams as well as Telemundo Global Studios.

Beginning in August, the executive will report to Ronald Day, president of entertainment and content strategy at NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises. โ€œSandra is a world-class media executive and savvy programmer with a keen eye for great content, a long history of programming innovation, and a deep understanding of the American Hispanic media landscape,โ€ Day said . โ€œShe has achieved impressive results at every stage of her career and is uniquely positioned to fuel Telemundoโ€™s continued leadership, overseeing our best-in-class programming for Latino audiences.โ€

Semester most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Content Officer for TV Azteca, overseeing content and distribution for linear and streaming products across the network. Previously, she was Executive Vice President and General Manager of Azteca Uno and Executive Vice President of Programming at Univision Communications.
