American drag racer Antron Brown drives the Matco Tools Top Fuel for AB Motorsports and competes in the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series.
Brown’s victories in the Top Fuel Championships in 2012, 2015 and 2016 were widely recognized. The first African-American to win the sport was Antron. Brown finished second in 2001 and 2006, winning a total of 16 motos.
When he first started professional drag racing, he actually enjoyed riding Pro Stock motorcycles, and he was instantly loved by spectators and competitors alike.

Antron Brown meets his wife Billie Jo Brown in his first Pro Stock moto
In 2001, Brown married Billie Joe Brown. They’ve been together since they met at Antron’s first Pro Stock motorcycle event in Gainesville in 1998.
In honor of their 21st wedding anniversary, Antron recently posted a photo of him and his wife on their wedding day on Instagram. The two have been together for many years because of mutual respect and trust.
Billie has also been a rocker for her husband. In an interview with DonSchumacherRacing, she was asked what it was like to have a racer’s spouse. She said he was the most supportive and humble person anyone could hope for.
Two sons and a daughter are the children of Brown and his wife Billie. For an NHRA racer, his child’s development precedes his professional achievement.
Antron’s son Anson’s family welcomed his interest in racing when he was 8 years old and put him in the Junior Dragster division.
Anson proved his talent by taking home some Midwest Jr. champions. Super Series Later, on his 17th birthday in 2021, he opted to upgrade to a larger vehicle, and his parents surprised him with a Super Comp license class at Frank Hawley.
Antron’s other two children also pursued their interest in drag racing along with Anson, Adler and Arianna to carry on the family legacy. Wherever any of their work ends up taking them, whether they are in the automotive industry or not, Antron and his wife Billie Jo will always love and support them.
Similarly, Brown encourages his kids to try anything because he wants them to follow their passions.

Antron Brown’s grandfather was the one who started the Brown drag racing gene in the family with the help of his grandmother, Dolores, who was a frequent racer.
Later, NHRA Racer’s father, Albert, made the same career decisions as his grandfather. He is an athlete drag racer and manages a septic tank service. Antron grew up watching races at Old Bridgetown Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ, where his father and uncle Andre Brown raced.
He became interested in racing after seeing his father and uncle race. He started racing motorcycles at age 6 and motocross at 12, honing his skills on the tracks he created on the farm. He competed in his first drag race as a high school student.
Similar to Antron, 13-year-old Anson of the Brown family is now a fourth-generation drag racer. In addition, his son Adler and other daughters, Arianna, continue to follow in his footsteps.
According to Brown, his children have been successful in junior racing from an early age and have learned important life lessons. His son Anson had won the Midwest Junior Dragster Championship the previous year. The Browns will now compete in three generations of NHRA Summernationals.

early life
Following the death of his grandfather, Brown’s family moved to his grandmother’s 10-acre farm in the township of Chesterfield, New Jersey when he was 6 years old. Brown’s father, Albert, owned a septic service and competed in sports-level drag racing. Brown lived in Trenton, New Jersey until he was six years old when his family moved to the farm. Antron started racing motorcycles at age 6 and motocross at age 12, practicing on the track he built on the farm where he maintained cars when he was a kid. In high school, he competed in his first competitive drag race.
Brown attended North Burlington County Regional High School as a sprinter and long jumper before becoming a track star at Mercer County Community College in New Jersey. He graduated from Mercer County Community College in 1997 with an associate degree in business administration. Brown’s athletic achievements earned him the nickname “Brown Lightning.” After getting the chance to run a track for Long Island University on a full scholarship, he was called up by football player Troy Vincent, whose wife married Brown’s cousin, who was starting a racing team. Brown’s cousin is Brown’s wife.

Brown competed in the NHRA’s Pro Stock motorcycle class from 1998 to 2007. He spent his first three years with Vincent’s 23-team racing team. In the motorcycle division, Brown won 16 events and finished with a career-best second place finish in both 2001 and 2006. He transitioned to top fuel racing in 2008. In 2012, 2015 and 2016, Brown was crowned the top fuel class champion.

Brown, his wife Billie Jo and their three children Anson, Adler and Arianna currently make their home in Pittsboro, Indiana. Also, he is a very devout Christian.

Brown made a cameo appearance on Season 3, Episode 8 of the A&E reality show Storage Wars, titled “The Fast and the Curious.” Brown takes on the role of the appraiser in this episode. He also appeared in Idris Elba: No Limits Episode 3, playing Elba’s drag racing coach. In the current edition of Top Gear America, he shares hosting duties with Tom Ford and William Fichtner. In the sixteenth season of the Discovery Show Wheeler Dealer, Brown races a 1965 Barracuda driven by Ant Antstead. His opponent was in the driver’s seat.
