Nielsen was a member of Tinubu’s internal political caucus when Gistmaster convened former regional women leaders at the All Progressive Congress (APC) platform in Lagos.
She is also the only woman on the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council.

Lady Kemi Nelson, former Lagos Commissioner for Women’s Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, has died.
Nelson, also known as Yeye-Sewa of Lagos, died after a long illness. She is a staunch follower of the former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tub.
She died on Sunday, according to Mayen Dally Adeokun, chairperson of the Ikeja chapter of the All Progressive Congress and chairperson of the Lagos State 57 APC chairpersons’ meeting.
“It is with a broken heart, but thanks to God Almighty, that this morning we announce the passing of our Ikeja Supreme Leader and state GAC member, First Lady Kemi Nelson,” said Adekun.
A brief message was also attached, offering heartfelt condolences to her immediate family as well as the Ikeja political family.

Lagos state top press secretary Babajide Sanwo-Olu Governor Gboyega Akosile announced the death of the APC leader in a tweet on Sunday.
The politician’s official obituary has not been released. On the other hand, Kemi has received many touching messages of condolences online.
“Rest in peace @OfficialAPCNg former Southwest Women’s Leader and late First Lady Kemi Nelson’s soul,” Aksoul tweeted on Sunday.

The deceased was a supporter of APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu.
The lawmaker was reported to have been ill for several months before his death. One party leader claimed she was clearly ill.
Osun State politician’s children and family
Born in Lagos on February 9, 1956, Nelson completed secondary school at the Anglican Girls’ Grammar School in Ijebu-Ode.
Completing her tertiary education at University College Hospital, Ibadan, Kemi holds a degree in Registered Nursing and Midwifery.
Kemi holds a Diploma in Law and an MBA in Financial Management from Lagos State University Ojo.
Her husband is Adeyemi Nelson, a former director of the federal Home Office.
Their union in 1987 produced three children. She is known for her short hair and unique accessories. So far, nothing about her family or children has been made public.
