The sudden death of Olympian and former Australian women’s hockey named Sandy Pisani shocked everyone. She was 63 of her age at the time of her death. She was diagnosed with cancer a couple of years back in 2019 and was battling the disease for 2 years but eventually, she died peacefully after a long courageous battle against such kind of disease. In addition to this, Pisani is one of the inspiring captains of the national Hockeyroos team and led the team from 1985 to 1986. Later, in 1988 she was one of the key players of the team and at the time the team seized the victory as Australia’s first hockey Olympic gold medal. Later, she was appointed as the national head selector with Hockey Australia. She served as the head selector from 1993 to 2000 and during her service time the team managed to conquer two Gold Olympic medals and achieved much success.

She was then praised at the South Australian Sport Hall of Fame in the year 2015 and she was also awarded one of the most prestigious Medals of the Order of Australia (OAM) for her splendid service to sports. Her household also took social media as her husband and her daughter wrote in a statement that “she was surrounded by her loving family” in her last time. All of her friends and fans are appreciating her personality and her battle against the disease. She dedicated her complete life to sports with a passion.
