The sudden death of Olympian and former Australian women’s hockey named Sandy Pisani shocked everyone. She was 63 of her age at the time of her death. This tragic news has been announced by Hockey SA. The information source also informed that she was hospitalized at St Andrew Hospital in Adelaide. According to the reports, she was suffering from the dreaded disease cancer. All of her fans are extremely sad about this misfortune and mourning the death of the star player. As we mentioned above that she was 63 years of her age at the time she died due to cancer. She took her last breath on 19th April 2022, she breathed last in St Andrew’s Hospital. She was diagnosed with cancer a couple of years back in 2019 and was battling the disease for 2 years but eventually, she died peacefully after a long courageous battle against such kind of disease. All the notable personalities of Hockey sport are expressing their sorrow on this disturbing event. As of now, there is no information available on her last rites.

In addition to this, Pisani is one of the inspiring captains of the national Hockeyroos team and led the team from 1985 to 1986. Later, in 1988 she was one of the key players of the team and at the time the team seized the victory as Australia’s first hockey Olympic gold medal. Later, she was appointed as the national head selector with Hockey Australia. She served as the head selector from 1993 to 2000 and during her service time the team managed to conquer two Gold Olympic medals and achieved much success.

She was then praised at the South Australian Sport Hall of Fame in the year 2015 and she was also awarded one of the most prestigious Medals of the Order of Australia (OAM) for her splendid service to sports. Her household also took social media as her husband and her daughter wrote in a statement that “she was surrounded by her loving family” in her last time. All of her friends and fans are appreciating her personality and her battle against the disease. She dedicated her complete life to sports with a passion.
