Labor Party presidential candidate and former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi has shared his views on the infrastructure, health care and security situation in Nigeria.
He also outlined some necessary steps in which these phenomena can be improved for the good of the Nigerian economy.
Peter Obi made this known in a statement he tweeted on his Twitter page in the late hours of Sunday, September 4, 2022.
Commenting on infrastructure, Peter Obi stated that the top three infrastructure priorities are power generation, roads and the heavy-duty rail network.
He made it known that they will realize this by using current oil revenues to invest in critical physical and human infrastructure.
In his additional statement, Peter Obi declared that, in the shortest time possible, through public-private partnerships, they will boost economic growth and wealth creation in the country by focusing on production in the critical sectors of manufacturing, agriculture and other areas.
Commenting on the health sector, Peter Obi made it known that sustainability will be key, as well as a strong partnership and effective synergies.
He added that access to quality, affordable health care will always depend on the combination of dedicated staff and adequate funding.
Regarding the insecurity situation in Nigeria, Peter Obi stated that a well-trained and professional police officer will not engage in police brutality.
It also made clear that weak institutions tend to breed impunity and police officers who abuse human rights or enforce freedoms must be held accountable.
Through this medium, Peter tries to portray to Nigerians his sincere ambition and mandate to restructure the country.
Peter Obi is the former Governor of Anambra State and the Labor Party’s presidential candidate who chose a well-known northern politician, Senator Yusuf Baba-Ahmed Datti, as his running mate.
