
Reese Cooper Death, Obituary – The 12th of December, 2001 found Reese Michael Cooper entered the world in Chicago, Illinois. He was the firstborn child of Christopher Scott Cooper and Bethany Jo (Hutchens) Cooper, who together had three children. He was the oldest of the three. The Waukee School District was Reese’s educational home, and she received her high school diploma from Waukee High School in the year 2020. While in high school, Reese indulged his passion for athletics by taking part in a variety of extracurricular activities, including football, baseball, basketball, student council, and Best Buddies.
After receiving his high school diploma, Reese continued his studies by enrolling at Iowa State University, where he became a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity. Reese was planning to earn a degree in sales and marketing from Iowa State University after completing his studies at Des Moines Area Community College where he was enrolled at the time. If you knew Reese, you were aware that he had a passion for eating, cooking, and the restaurant Wasabi Sushi in Waukee and Fleming’s Steakhouse, where he worked and found fulfillment. Reese was a child of God, and he professed his trust in Jesus Christ as both his Lord and Savior at the Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines, Iowa, which was also a church that his family visited regularly. Reese was a kind and generous person, and her smile was contagious. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a chuckle that was unforgettable.
The Cooper family have devoted fans of the Hawkeyes and frequently attended University of Iowa football games throughout the autumn season. Reese cherished the time he got to spend with both his family and his friends. On the previous Saturday evening, Reese was engaging in that activity. A terrible accident left Reese with injuries, and she was sent to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for treatment after being taken there. It was on Sunday, October 2, 2022, that he passed away there at the age of 20 years.
His parents, Chris and Bethany Cooper, of Clive, his brother, Ryan Cooper, and his sister, Rylee Cooper, are the only members of his family who are able to honor his memory. Betty Gunderman, Reese’s maternal great-grandmother; his maternal grandfather, Stephen Hutchens; his maternal grandmother, Rebecca and James Venis of Crawfordsville, Indiana; his uncle Stephen (Bud) Hutchens II, (Rebekah) Hutchens and their daughter, Kearston; his aunt Briana (Cory) Woodall, and their children Tacie, Aubrie, and Gage; his paternal grandparents, Ken and Helen Cooper of Marion, Iowa.
