The eighth-generation Toyota Land Cruiser 300 is finally on its way.
The launch of the new Land Cruiser 300 in our market was delayed due to high demand and a chip shortage that occurred in 2021. While some privately imported examples already exist, dealers have recently begun accepting reservations for Toyota’s newest flagship SUV.
Regarding appearance, the new LC 300 is unmistakably a Land Cruiser. Principal design elements include a large, chrome-laden, horizontally slatted grille and redesigned headlamps with vents beneath it. Along the side, the Land Cruiser 300 retains the squared-off design of its predecessor, with prominent, squared wheel arches and a prominently curved window line. At the rear, it receives slimmer taillights and a redesigned tailgate and bumper. The Land Cruiser 300 for India is available in a total of five colors and three types of upholstery: beige, black, and a red/black two-tone option.

The highlight of the completely redesigned interior is the 12.3-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a 14-speaker JBL audio system. The India-specific Toyota Land Cruiser 300 will only be available with a 5-seat layout, according to dealer sources. This is in contrast to the model sold abroad, which offers a 7-seat layout option.

The new Land Cruiser 300 is based on the new GA-F platform, which is based on TNGA while retaining the Land Cruiser’s ladder-frame construction. Internationally, the LC300 is available with two engine options: a new 409hp, 3.5-liter, twin-turbo petrol V6 and a 305hp, 3.3-liter diesel unit, both of which are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. However, the diesel engine will be the only option for the Indian model at the moment.

The new Land Cruiser 300 comes standard with 4×4 like its predecessors, but the new model features a more advanced Multi-Terrain Select system with Deep Snow and Auto modes and a Multi-Terrain Monitor system with an underbody camera. A revised control system maintains the SUV’s speed while driving off-road.
