Lil Tjay (real name Tione Jayden Merritt) was shot multiple times in New Jersey early Wednesday morning. According to a media report, he was taken to a clinic for emergency surgery. However, Lil Tjay is in stable condition after suffering a serious injury. He is a 21 year old American rapper. Police say the suspect tried to rob three people and the shooting happened on a boardwalk in Edgewater.

Two people were injured in the incident: a 22-year-old man and Lil Tjay. Lil Tjay was taken to the hospital immediately after the shooting and is now recovering, according to TMZ USA. The second victim was also found at a nearby gas station with a single gunshot wound, but is believed not to have suffered any serious injuries. While one of the victims is doing well with only minor injuries, the other has been classified as critical in hospital, according to the Bergen County District Attorney’s Office (BCPO).

Hip-hop star French Montana tweeted that people should pray for his little brother Lil Tjay, while other athletes and musicians offered their condolences after the incident. Investigators from the New York City Police Department and the Bergen County Attorney’s Office arrested the suspect on Wednesday. He faces four felonies: attempted murder, armed robbery, illegal possession of a firearm and fourth-degree assault.
