Last season Christian Pulisic was one of the players that stealing the shows in Blues 5-3 defeats to Premier League champions Liverpool.
Despite Chelsea suffered defeats to Jurgen Klopp’s men, Pulisic, 21, was delivered standout performances for Frank Lampard’s side.
The USA international has struggled during his first three months in England before suffered Achilles injury early this year.
But the 21-year-old playmaker has been one of the sharpest attackers in second campaign of last season. Before Chelsea clash with Premier League champions back in July 23 2020.
Pulisic has been direct goal involvement in five of his seven appearances, scoring three goals, providing an assist and winning a penalty for the Stamford Bridge outfit.
However, during mouthwatering encounter between Chelsea and Liverpool back in July, the talented playmaker produced another sparking display after came off the bench against the Reds to scoring a fine goal and creating another for Tammy Abraham after a virtuoso run.
And ahead of their first meet in 2020/21 campaign that held at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon, will hopefully the USA international return on pitch for the first time this season.
The talented playmaker was not included in squad for Chelsea’s 3-1 win over Brighton on Monday night as he continues his work up to full fitness following a hamstring injury suffered in the FA Cup final back in August against Arsenal that ended 2-1 favorite Mikel Arteta’s men.
He said: ‘With Christian (Pulisic), he was training with us last week and had a little bit of discomfort a couple of days ago when he was trying to train with us to be in contention for today.
‘It would have been a big ask for today but he has had to take a few steps back so we’ll have to see. That’s one that I don’t have big news on at the minute. We’ll need to wait and see.’
