Musician Sipho Kalani passed away suddenly on August 1, 2022, at the age of 46. Although the exact circumstances remain unclear, it was officially announced that Kalani’s death followed a brief illness. Since May 2022, Kalani has “allegedly” suffered from the disease.
The Crown Gospel Music Awards, which Calanei co-founded, announced the tragic news in a statement.
The manifesto said:
“The World Gospel Powerhouse is saddened to announce that Sipho Kalani, one of the original Crown Gospel Music Awards EXCO members, has passed away. Despite signs of progress over the past few weeks, Kalani, an accomplished preacher, musician, well-known MC, radio host, and devout SDA church member, was disastrously defeated in the early hours of August 1, 2022. Karen has been ill since around May of this year.”

Born on September 21, 1975, the famous South African musician Sipho Kalani has a special interest in Christian music. Kalani attended Umm Sobomwu Primary School and Nkumbulo Comprehensive School as a child before earning a degree from the Mbila School of Music and Art.
Kalani started her career as a producer and recording artist in 1998. Later, he also studied composition, orchestral music, and talent discovery. He was then tasked with evaluating a brand new gospel album for Radio Pulpit.
He later founded Parousia Communications and served as a director of Overeth Music Publishing. Additionally, Kalani was a member of the Crowns Gospel Music Awards’ EXCO from its inception. For a time, he was also the station manager of Adventist Radio.
In addition to hosting the music show Gospel Gold, the musician has spoken at many public gatherings. Throughout his career, Sipho Kalani has collaborated with Lebo Sekgobela, Mabongi, and Bishop Benjamin Dube as host of numerous performances and gospel music albums.
For “Spirit of Praise,” Calani also played music and served as host. In a statement, the Crown Gospel Music Awards praised Carlaney’s ability to present awards.

Online users and followers of the musician took to Twitter to express their grief over his passing. Little is known about the musician’s funeral, other than the survival of his wife, Brenda Kalani, their children, and his mother.
