From sound engineers and screenwriters to celebrity makeup artists and stylists, typeThe series “Ask an Insider” invites top professionals in the entertainment industry to share their must-haves for work…and entertainment. In this issue, “Euphoria” star Storm Reid shares the products she used every day during her freshman year at USC.
Storm Reid is a far cry from the typical college student. Anyone unfamiliar with the 19-year-old actor will surely be familiar by now, thanks to her scene-stealing supporting role in “Euphoria,” whose second season broke HBO Max rating records last January. She’s now set to star in Paramount Pictures’ feature film Becoming a Noble and has an upcoming role in HBO’s highly anticipated series The Last of Us.
After arranging intense shoots and rehearsals — she said the day could start as early as 6 a.m. if she could work out before class — Reed returned to her USC dorm, where she lives with roommates Natalia Bryant.
“I’m so grateful that I’ve been able to find a little bit of normalcy while trying to continue to be an actress, producer, and businesswoman,” Reid told Reuter’s type” I met so many incredible people from all walks of life, made so many friends, and had so many new experiences. Just to be able to play college football and represent my school, cheer and be a teenager at this time in their lives With all the things I usually do, I’m really grateful to be able to experience both sides of my love.”
Naturally, it’s hard to make time for herself while trying to maintain her grades, social life, and multiple careers in Hollywood. That balance is the focus of her recent Off to College collection, “Dorm Roomz,” in partnership with Amazon, for which she curated a collection of her school must-haves, including jade rollers and beat noise-canceling headphones.
“Natalia and I find ourselves always hosting what we call family dinners, or like game nights or having friends over to study. But that leads to people falling asleep on the couch or wanting to stay for the weekend. So we Invested in an air mattress that we would put in the living room. We ended up really just loving it, whether people stayed overnight or not. I think it basically just made a big sofa. So we put the air mattress in the living room and we put Nice sheets and blankets on top of the air mattress to make it still look like it’s not a mattress in the middle of the floor. So that’s really one of the must-haves that we really love and something we’ve been talking about to this day.”
