On Sunday, Georgie Tunny catches up with everyone’s favourite actor, Idris Elba to talk about his latest film, Beast.
Filmed in picturesque South Africa, Idris Elba stars in the role of Doctor Nate Samuels, a father of two teenage girls who is taking his daughters on safari to connect with the place where their recently deceased mother grew up. It’s a pilgrimage for the family, with the hope that they can bond after their collective loss. Directed by Icelander Baltasar Kormákur (Everest, The Deep), Beast opens in cinemas on 19 August.
On Tuesday, American pop starlet Fletcher joins us at the desk. Fletcher’s music career has gone from strength to strength since she first competed on the premiere season of X Factor back in 2011.
Her latest single, Her Body Is Bible follows on from her previous singles, Undrunk and Bitter which are both ARIA-certified Gold. Her new album Girl Of My Dreams, is set to be released next month.
Fletcher has just wrapped her US tour, supported by our very own G-Flip and is about to embark on her first Australian tour which has already sold out.
On Wednesday, Peter Helliar sits down with one of the greatest basketballers of all time, Shaquille O’Neal. The Hall of Famer and four-time NBA championship winner returns to Australia for the first time in over 20 years on a speaking tour. Pete catches up with the NBA megastar to chat about his incredible career.
Professional surfer, model and actor Rasmus King joins us on the desk on Thursday. Born in Byron Bay, Rasmus has spent his life chasing waves around the world. Turning his hand to acting, Rasmus stars in the first locally commissioned feature film for Paramount +, 6 Festivals.
Written and directed by award-winning director and producer Macario de Souza (Bra Boys, Fighting Fear), AKA recording artist Kid Mac, 6 Festivals tells the story of three best friends as they bucket-list six music festivals over six months.
6 Festivals rocks a soundtrack of some of the hottest Australian music acts, some of whom will feature in cameo appearances (as themselves), including Dune Rats, G Flip, Bliss n Eso, B Wise, Peking Duk, Ruby Fields, Jerome Farah, Kobie Dee and more.
Rasmus is also set to star as Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns in What If The Future Never Happened? due to be released later this year.
