Rio de Janeiro councilor Gabriel Monteiro (PL) became the target of a police operation that investigates the leak of an intimate video in which he appears having sex with a 15-year-old girl.One of his aides told police that Monteiro showed videos of sex with minors “as if they were trophies”. “He had a habit of making jokes, saying he was going to open a day care center and that 20-year-old women would be old,” the man told police. The aide also stated that he has seen girls “leaving there [his house] crying, appearing to have been vulgar activities”.
The operation was launched on April 7, but since the end of March, Gabriel Monteiro has been the target of complaints from former employees who reported episodes of moral and harassment and physical aggression. They also claimed that some of the videos posted on the councilor’s social media were forged – as is the case of a video that shows an employee of Gabriel Monteiro guiding a homeless person to simulate theft and then being approached by the councilor.The allegations were made in a report by Fantástico, aired on March 27. The Chamber’s Ethics Council decided, on April 5, to open a disciplinary action against the parliamentarian, which could result in his removal from office.
