She slammed back at the criticism asserting that the behavior of Will Smith was disappointing and as per one user, reinforced the incorrect perception of the Black community. A Black member of the Academy’s board of governors, Roger Ross Williams, allegedly informed The Hollywood Reporter:

“It reinforces stereotypes about Black people, and it just hurts me to my core. The attorney also analyzed the tweet of The Academy.

She stated: “Condone’ is such an interesting word, frequently wreaking of arrogance or ignorance,” claiming that the root problems should be tackled since the violence that individuals condone could only mean the “the type of violence they are uncomfortable with.”
