Late Wednesday afternoon, a police officer and two others were shot dead by a gunman who barricaded themselves at their Arcadia home.

The suspect is still hiding in a residence in the 2500 block of Greenfield Avenue, where police believe a 12-year-old child may have been when the gunman continued to open fire.

The injured officer was reportedly shot in the face and was taken to a Pasadena hospital in unknown circumstances. The circumstances of the other people injured in the shooting were also unclear.

Several police departments responded to the neighborhood when nearby homes were evacuated.
