Yes, the former softball player of the Raybestos Brakettes, Joan Joyce sadly passed away at the age of 81. She was a softball coach at the University’s Flordia Atlantic team for the last 28 years until her death in 2022. The beloved coach took her last breath on March 26, 2022. It is such heartbreaking news for the entire community who lost a gem. The player was famous in the softball game community after struck out both Ted Williams and Hank Aaron.

When Joyce joined the Raybestos Brakettes, she was just 13 years old. While Raybestos Brakettes is a professional softball team based in Connecticut and also at that time when Joyce became a part of the team. She also had set records on the LPGA Tour as a golfer and on the USA women’s national basketball team and also was a player and handling the responsibility as a coach of the Connecticut Clipper volleyball team.

Joyce remained active for the Brakettes from 1954 to 1963 and later, she joined the Lionettes from 1964 to 1966 and once again, she made her appearance in the Brakettes from 1967 to 1975. In her entire career, she made several sports records and some of them are yet to be broken. Eight-time MVP in the National Tournament, Most victories in a season, Two no-hit, no-run games in National Tournament four times, Doubles in a season, Career triples, and many more.

How Did Joan Joyce Die?

The player was born on August 18, 1940, in Waterbury, Connecticut, US. After softball, she also joined the LPGA Tour from 1977 t0 1994. Along with this, she finishes included sixth-place in tournaments in 1981, 1982, and 1984 including a round of 66. Joyce even served as a player and a coach in the United States Volleyball Association with the Connecticut Clippers. Well, the cause of her death has not been revealed but her age issues must be a reason of her sudden death. Joyce Joan will be always remembered by her students, family, and fans.
