After four years of controversial opinions on the show, it’s hard to imagine The View without Meghan McCain. Alas, as Season 24 wrapped last week, McCain bid her farewells in peace. But with The View ending its 24th season, what’s next for the ABC talk show? If you’re wondering what the schedule for The View looks like over the next few weeks, we have answers.
The talk show concluded its season last week with a round of celebrations for McCain, remembering the co-host’s best moments. In her final goodbye, McCain said, “This has been a really wild ride, the past four years of my life,” adding that “It’s been, honestly, the best of times, the worst of times in all ways, on and off the show. It’s been a really incredible, liberating experience. I will always cherish the time I spent with all of you. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.”
Here’s everything you need to know about the new co-host, the show’s summer hiatus, and more details on Season 25.

Why is Meghan McCain leaving The View?
Season 25 of The View will be down one co-host. McCain announced she was exiting the show back in July, ending her four-year-long tenure with the series just last week as Season 24 wrapped. As The View plans to head back to its New York studio, McCain won’t be able to shoot while she lives in her new home of Washington, D.C.
“This was not an easy decision,” McCain said when she announced her departure. “It took a lot of thought and counsel and prayer and talking to my family and my close friends. And you know, look: Covid has changed the world for all of us and it changed the way at least, for me, the way I am looking at life, the way I am living my life, the way I want my life to look like.”
McCain has not set up a permanent gig post-The View. She is, however, set to produce an upcoming Lifetime film starring Heather Locklear.
Who will replace Meghan McCain as co-host on Season 25 of The View?
The View has yet to announce the panel for Season 25 of the series, but Goldberg, Hostin, Haines, and Behar are expected to return. There’s also no word on McCain’s replacement. Currently, Ana Navarro subs in for the co-hosts when they can’t make the show, but who knows? The new host could be someone entirely different. Stay tuned for more updates on the new panel for Season 25 of The View.
