Jadon Sancho has been consistently linked with a move to Man Utd, however that deal seems to have reached an impasse with the Red Devils now looking for alternative options before the deadline.
One name that has emerged as a possible option is Dembele, who has struggled with injury issues at Barcelona following his €105m move from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2017.
There was a story on Friday that Paul Pogba had phoned his France team-mate to convince him that a move to Old Trafford was right for him.
On Monday morning, Spanish publication Sport (via Sport Witness) claimed that Man Utd were ready to make ‘one last’ offer for Dembele, while Mundo Deportivo reckoned that the Red Devils are the ‘only one that can put money’ on the table for the winger.
Then came an update that Dembele had ‘agreed to join’ Man Utd from journalist Duncan Castles but that the Premier League outfit wanted him ‘on loan’ whereas Barcelona were keen to sell him but they are ‘now open to single-season loan’.
However, the single-season loan would be ‘conditional on Dembele extending his Barca contract’ before leaving.
And now Barcelona-based journalist Moil Lorens has added that Dembele ‘did not train today with Barcelona’. Instead he ‘appeared at the Ciutat Esportiva, but before starting training, he left…’
