We need to speak up. It’s too much injustice going on. Our country don go – Davido

According to a report by Punch on Sunday, May 31, 2026, Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has called on entertainers and other public figures to speak more openly about the worsening insecurity and social challenges facing the country.

The Afrobeats singer made the appeal through a series of posts shared on his X account on Saturday, where he expressed concern over what he described as increasing silence among influential Nigerians despite growing hardship and violence across the country.

Davido admitted that he and several other entertainers may not have done enough in using their platforms to draw attention to the struggles affecting ordinary citizens.

“We need to speak up. It’s too much injustice going on. Our country don go,” he wrote.

The singer noted that celebrities and public figures often face criticism whether they choose to speak out on national issues or remain silent.

Despite this, he insisted that people with influence still have a responsibility to speak according to their conscience, especially during periods of national difficulty.

Davido further stressed that the entertainment industry possesses a powerful voice that can help shape conversations around governance, insecurity, and social justice.

According to him, the continued rise in kidnappings, violent attacks, and other security-related incidents has become too serious to ignore.

He also expressed sympathy for victims of insecurity and their families, describing the situation in the country as deeply troubling.

The comments come amid ongoing public debate about insecurity and increasing calls for celebrities, religious leaders, and other influential personalities to take stronger positions on issues affecting governance, public safety, and the welfare of citizens.

Davido’s remarks have since generated reactions on social media, with many users supporting his call for entertainers and influential figures to become more vocal about national issues.
